Spotty cellular coverage, poor voice quality, dropped calls, and dead zones continue to plague employees and visitors in middleprise buildings. Cel-Fi QUATRA is an Active DAS Hybrid that solves this problem. It is an affordable, all-digital solution. It provides uniform, high quality cellular signal throughout a building, and is scalable to the size needed. Cel-FI QUATRA is carrier approved and guaranteed network safe.

Unlike older analog boosters and passive DAS technology, Cel-Fi QUATRA delivers a cellular signal that is up to 1000x stronger, utilizing CAT 5e cabling for RF and Power over Ethernet, with no signal attenuation right to the perimeter of the building. Cel-Fi QUATRA can be installed in just days (compared to months typical of other solutions), and at a price point that meets the middleprise budget.

A building’s occupants deserve great cellular coverage! The majority of cellular phone calls take place inside, but cell networks are outside. 80% of business users inside complain of poor coverage or dropped calls. A building’s materials, while improving energy efficiency, will block or inhibit cellular service from the outside network. To exacerbate the issue, cellular coverage is increasingly not optional. A Solution for the Carrier

Cel-Fi QUATRA is designed to improve indoor signal coverage without any risk of interference on the mobile network. Cel-Fi QUATRA provides a sophisticated network-safe solution that has been engineered to deliver multiple levels of network protection:

  • Uplink power control to prevent desensitizing the network
  • Echo cancellation and feedback control
  • Uplink gating
  • Signal qualification (channels are individually qualified, so noise or very poor signals won’t be amplified and degrade the network)

Smart Cellular Coverage

Cel-Fi QUATRA is an active DAS hybrid solution for delivering high quality in-building cellular coverage in middleprise venues. It operates in off-air mode or can be integrated with carrier small cell equipment and operated in distributed small cell mode, creating a Supercell. Scalable Solutions

Cel-Fi QUATRA is a scalable solution that utilizes one or multiple Network Units, depending on the environment and size of the space, with up to four distributed Coverage Units connected to each Network Unit.

Off Air Mode

Cel-Fi QUATRA can be installed off-air, using either a MIMO panel or omni donor antenna to provide high-quality in‑building wireless connectivity. Cel-Fi QUATRA can be deployed by installers or IT personnel with Cat5e skills (no RF engineering skills needed).

Supercell Mode

A Supercell is comprised of a Cel-Fi QUATRA system connected to a small cell. Multiple Cel‑Fi QUATRA systems can be connected to a single small cell, or multiple small cells, to form a coordinated Supercell. A Supercell with Cel-Fi QUATRA is more efficient than multiple small cells, and the CUs of a Cel-Fi QUATRA system connected to a Supercell do not interfere with one another.

Cel-Fi QUATRA is available in two versions, with coordinating components. Multiple configurations are available by region and band specification.

Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000

Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 is a Single Carrier MIMO Active DAS Hybrid that can be configured in Off-Air (with MIMO Panel Antenna) or Supercell modes. Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 solutions are scalable and can be deployed alongside one another to deliver Dual Carrier coverage.

Cel-Fi QUATRA 2000

Cel-Fi QUATRA 2000 is a Dual Carrier Active DAS Hybrid that can be configured for an Off-Air donor antenna. Cel-Fi QUATRA 2000 solutions are scalable and can be deployed alongside one another to deliver Multi Carrier coverage.

Installations

Cel-Fi QUATRA was built with the integrator and installer in mind. Setup begins with planning, with installers using the Cel-Fi QUATRA BOM Estimator tool to capture basic environmental information. This then returns a list of equipment needed.

While IBWave is not needed for design, a variety of templates are available for download to accelerate the design phase. Cel-Fi QUATRA is an all-digital solution designed to eliminate the coax-related problem of signal attenuation over distance, and intelligently manage gain. During installation, Cel-FI AntennaBoost technology makes antenna mounting and pointing much easier, so that the process can be completed in minutes. The solution incorporates cloud-based software (WAVE) and an app for commissioning and maintenance, enabling installers to offer a variety of SLAs to customers.

The Cel-Fi GO has a rugged design to withstand harsh conditions including dust and water exposure. Cel-Fi GO utilizes nanotechnology to produce a thin film coating across the entire PCB assembly. Cel-Fi GO X bundles, with four different configurations, can be installed indoors or outdoors for 100 dB signal gain in areas up to 15,000 sq. ft. per system. The bundles include either Cel-Fi Omni Dome Antenna(s) for ceiling mount or Cel-Fi Wideband Panel Antenna(s) for wall mount, and include the Cel-Fi Wideband Directional Donor Antenna. Additional server antennas are available for venues with more floors or dense interior walls. Cel-Fi PRO is CE and FCC approved. It has been approved by numerous mobile operators and regulatory bodies and is shipping globally.

Cel-Fi PRO EXA variants feature an external antenna connector to enable the use of an external Donor antenna. A Cel-Fi PRO EXA with an external Donor antenna can thereby acquire an outside signal, allowing it to be used in applications where no signal is present indoors (i.e. cement, metal walls, etc.). This opens up new opportunities for using Cel-Fi PRO Smart Boosters when other solutions fail. Cel-Fi PRO EXA enables cellular coverage in hard to reach places by allowing the Cel-Fi Network Unit to be placed, where no service exists.

Move the CU further away from the NU to maximize coverage.

The total coverage area equals twice the distance between the NU and the CU. The maximum distance is up to 100 dB path loss.

Cel-Fi PRO X

Cel-Fi PRO X is a cable adapter sleeve that allows the Cel-Fi PRO unit to link across greater distances or through (RF blocking) obstacles. The accessory works with any Cel-Fi PRO, in locations where the standard wireless UNII system link is challenged. The Cel-Fi PRO X connects the Cel-Fi PRO Network Unit to the Cel-Fi PRO Coverage Unit using a completely passively coupled sleeve, which uses the cable for communications.

Cel-Fi PRO X opens up new opportunities for using Cel-Fi PRO Smart Boosters, when other solutions fail. Cel-Fi PRO X enables cellular coverage to hard to reach places by allowing the Cel-Fi Coverage Unit to be placed much further from the Network Unit, or allowing the Units to connect when their normal RF link signals cannot penetrate through structures.

The Cel-Fi DUO/DUO+ are designed to dramatically improve HD voice and data coverage in up to two bands for 3G/4G/LTE for consumers while significantly improving network. The Cel-Fi Wideband Directional Antenna is an outdoor vertically polarized highly directional antenna for Cellular Boosters; with 10 dB gain in the low bands and 11 dB gain in the high bands.  The weather resistant housing is built with UV stabilized ABS plastic casing. Optimized for Cel-Fi products, the Cel-Fi Wideband Directional Antenna can be used with the Cel-Fi WAVE Antenna positioning app. The unit includes standard brackets for mounting, and can also be used with the Cel-Fi Pole Mount.
